Adolescent Girls’ Digital Empowerment through Wikimedia Projects

The Adolescent Girls Initiative for Learning and Empowerment (AGILE) Project Katsina, in collaboration with Wiki Loves Women under the #SheSaid campaign, has launched an innovative program to build digital and media literacy skills among adolescent girls across Katsina State.

This introduces girls to Wikimedia projects such as Wikipedia and Wikiquote, empowering them to research, write, and publish articles that highlight women’s achievements and leadership stories. Participants learn how to navigate digital tools, verify information, and become active contributors to open knowledge platforms.

Through this partnership, AGILE Project Katsina aims to:

🌐 Promote digital inclusion and equal participation for girls in online spaces.

💪 Strengthen confidence and creativity through hands-on learning.

📚 Increase the visibility of women’s voices and contributions globally.

🧭 Support the broader AGILE vision of empowering adolescent girls through education, skills, and innovation.

This effort aligns with AGILE’s commitment to ensuring every girl in Katsina not only learns but also leads and thrives in today’s digital world.
