Katsina, July 21, 2025\u00a0\u2014 The Katsina State Project Implementation Unit (SPIU) of the\u00a0Adolescent Girls Initiative for Learning and Empowerment (AGILE)\u00a0successfully conducted a\u00a0Community Sensitisation Campaign on the Conditional Cash Transfer (CCT) Programme\u00a0at the\u00a0Assembly Hall, Katsina College.<\/h6>\n\n\n\n
The event brought together key education stakeholders, traditional rulers, religious leaders, parents, teachers, and representatives of community-based organizations from across the state\u2019s three senatorial zones \u2014 Katsina, Daura, and Funtua.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The sensitisation campaign was designed to strengthen understanding of the CCT initiative, which provides financial incentives to families to support adolescent girls\u2019 education. The initiative encourages school enrolment, attendance, and transition to higher levels of education, particularly among girls from low-income households.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Speaking at the event, officials from the AGILE Katsina SPIU<\/strong> emphasized that the Conditional Cash Transfer programme serves as an essential tool in reducing dropout rates and promoting equity in education. The financial incentive helps families overcome barriers related to poverty, early marriage, and cultural bias against girls\u2019 education.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Through the sensitisation campaign, AGILE is deepening community ownership and strengthening public awareness to ensure every eligible girl stays in school and fulfills her educational potential.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
